You have grimy oven racks. I have grimy oven racks. We ALL have grimy oven racks. No news there. BUT, did you know that you can get those racks clean without harsh chemicals, using basic stuff from your cupboards? Yup. Just follow these easy steps to get those racks sparkly clean—at least for the time being.
Things You’ll Need
-
Baking soda
-
Distilled white vinegar
-
Scouring pad
-
Spray bottle
Step 1: Put Racks into Tub
Place the rack in a bathtub or a basin large enough to fit the entire rack.
Ready to start cleaning!
Step 2: Spray Racks with Vinegar
Fill your spray bottle with vinegar, then liberally spray the rack.
Step 3: Sprinkle on the Soda
Next, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda all over the racks to coat them.
That fizzing means its cleaning power is being unleashed!
Step 4: Soak and Sit
Now, fill the tub or basin with hot water, ensuring that the rack is fully submerged. Leave it to soak for 10 minutes (or longer). You'll notice some of the built-up food residue start to melt away.
Step 5: Scrub
Remove the racks from the water, then scrub off the softened gunk and grime. If extra cleaning power is needed, coat with more vinegar and baking soda before scrubbing.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed until your racks are sparkling clean!
